True Beauty – What lies Within

True beauty must be necessarily distinguished from the artificial ones. Beauty that is thrust upon others is superficial. It is not only illusory but also deceitful. Authentic beauty on the contrary, unlocks the human heart, opening a yearning to know, a desire to love, to go towards the other, to reach for the Beyond.

True Beauty is indeed, a television serial, where contestants participate and compete with one another in order to achieve the truly beautiful award at the end. The prize money for the winner of the serial is $100,000. Along with this the winner gets to be featured in “People magazine’s 100 most beautiful people issue”.

The competition consists of a number of parts

(i) The Science of Beauty: In this stage, the participants are taken to a doctor or a beauty expert where they are judged in various ways through a hidden camera in order to arrive at a relevant beauty score given to each one of them.

(ii)Million Dollar Beauty: In this stage, the contestants are paired into three teams. They are given $100 per team and sent to Melrose Avenue in order to procure a complete outfit. In the process, they are tested for their intrinsic beauty, again with the help of a hidden camera. Qualities such as kindness, charity, nobility are taken into positive consideration.

(iii)Beauty in Motion: In this stage, the participants are divided into two groups for an action photo shoot challenge and also made to learn one of the four sports available to them for another photo shoot on the subsequent day. Here, too, they are judged on their qualities of selflessness, helpfulness and responsibility towards others.

(iv)Timeless Beauty: The following day engages the contestants on a photographic shoot where they are introduced with a senior citizen and asked to create a photo with an innovative style depicting their concept of Timeless Beauty. Basically, what they are secretly judged is their attitude and treatment towards the senior citizen.

(v)Natural Beauty: In this stage, each of the contestants are split into groups of two and asked to choose an item on their own, something from which they cannot be separated. Then they are informed of a 30 second video shoot for an organic company where the only item hay are allowed to bring is the personal inseparable item that each had chosen for themselves. Subsequently, they are asked to make video shoots of one another without further delay. What the judges are looking at, in this round is an individual’s capacity to work in a team.

(vi)Ger Fit: At this stage, the contestants are made to undergo a physical fitness test but are actually marked for their courtesy and sportsmanship rather than their physical abilities.

(vii)Red Carpet Mamas: In this stage, the participants are taken to a salon to get dressed up for a society function along with a red carpet later in the same evening. The participants are given their parents as their dates for the evening. The contestants are basically judged for their socialization capacity with the other members of the function and also for their attitude towards their respective parents.

(viii)Finale: This is the final stage where the contestants are taken to a studio for the People Magazine challenge along with a photo shoot. At the end of this stage, the contestants are shown their performances by revealing the hidden cameras.

The contestant who comes out as the most beautiful, both, intrinsically and extrinsically is declared as the winner possessing all the humane qualities of compassion, loyalty, decency, humility, decency, kindness, charity etc.
